The following terms govern participation in the Jason Amada Second Chance Scholarship award and selection process.
All applications are evaluated by a confidential selection committee against published criteria, including academic merit, leadership, and the strength of the submitted essay. Decisions of the committee are final.
Awards are paid directly to the recipient's university financial aid office and applied to qualified educational expenses such as tuition, fees, and required course materials. Funds are not paid directly to the student.
Recipients must remain enrolled in good standing at an accredited institution. The Second Chance Scholarship reserves the right to verify enrollment, academic status, and submitted documentation prior to and during disbursement.
Any material misrepresentation in an application — including but not limited to academic records, identity, or supporting documents — will result in immediate disqualification and, where awarded, revocation and recovery of funds.
All scholarship funds are paid directly to the student's university financial aid office and applied to qualified educational expenses. Under no circumstances are awards paid as cash or transferred directly to the student.
Awards may be applied to tuition, mandatory fees, and required course materials as administered by the recipient's financial aid office. Any residual disbursement is handled by the institution in accordance with its own policies.
Recipients agree to maintain full-time enrollment in good standing, comply with their institution's code of conduct, and promptly notify the Second Chance Scholarship of any material change in enrollment status.
The Second Chance Scholarship does not discriminate based on race, gender, religion, or age in the selection of recipients or in the administration of any award.
The Second Chance Scholarship reserves the right to update these terms to reflect changes in program administration. Material changes will be posted on this page.
